We hit the jackpot in genetics- my new favourite phrase because it is so true and I feel like I have won something special. Alaska's and Hendrix's litter of 4 girls have been truly fantastic. No matter what activity we have done, where we have travelled, how far we have travelled, everything has been easygoing to the point the girls come across as indifferent to the world. They enjoy watching the world around them and will happily curl up and fall asleep despite somewhere new and potentially noisy. Having puppies with an off switch is a godsend.

Today we had their second vaccination appointment and what a lovely vet visit we had. The girls are naturally calm, quiet and settled in their stroller and the vet asked if all Pomskies were like this. She was very impressed with them and told some of the vets and nurses to pop in and see how good these puppies were. One of the nurses actually said if it is the breeder at Wolf Heart Pomskies then she follows them on facebook and they are very good breeders. How amazing is that 🙂I felt so proud as it is a massive compliment. I mentioned just a few of the activities we have done to prepare the puppies for the world and it was so good to hear the vets feedback. I love talking to other people about the puppies and dogs who are knowledgeable about them and who are genuinely interested.

Over the weekend, we made a special trip to Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park because it is dog friendly :) I had been looking forward to taking the puppies there because they can hear, smell and see animals who are very different. I had prepared the girls for this trip by going to various places in the stroller as well as playing animal noises over the last 5 weeks. The car journey of 1 hour and 40 minutes was the longest they had experienced so far and they were amazing. We split the girls up and took 2 strollers so they had plenty of space to move and lay down if they wanted to sleep. The girls were perfect- they looked around at the animals, sniffed the air, looked at other people and other dogs and they went to sleep when they got tired. We took them out of the stroller so they could have a better look around and not rely on the comfort of the stroller or their sisters. We did not hear a sound from them and they were content. We decided to have a little walk along the beach as it was a short distance away and the girls had had a great sleep. They were yet again, content and enjoyed watching the sea and smelling the salty air. It was quite chilly with a good breeze and they remained unfazed. The journey back home was a lovely, quiet one and the girls never fail to impress me.

I took a lot of photos of the animals and it was lovely seeing how many faced the sun, enjoying the suns rays. I am now itching to go to a bigger zoo and a farm to practice with my camera.

Delta has gone to her new family today and she's settling in so well. It is always a huge relief when they are confident going with someone they have met once, and explore their new surroundings without fear or worry. I know I have done the best by them when everything is smooth sailing.
