At 37 days, Raven has a small pregnant belly showing and her growing puppies look like they are developing well on the scan. The photo above is Raven at 52 days in her second pregnancy. She takes to pregnancy well and she loves having puppies to care for. She keeps popping in to try and feed her granddaughters (for various reasons, I am taking measures to stop it). We can expect her puppies around the 31st of March. It would be quite special if she had them the day before as it is Mother's Day on the 30th.

Alaska's and Hendrix's daughters will be 7 weeks old tomorrow

I am blown away with how well they have taken to new environments. I have been able to skip some of the small steps that I would usually do to build up to the new experiences as the girls take everything in their stride and seem indifferent to things that many puppies would naturally be scared of. The trip to the woodland went brilliantly. The puppies played together in the stroller, enjoyed looking out and watching the world go by. Dana seemed the most interested in looking around and she is the one who loves humans. Alaska and Hendrix were great role models and the puppies watched them investigate their surroundings as well as greet other dogs politely. They were silent in the stroller and after a while, they went to sleep.

Their first vet trip was a massive success. The vet complimented them on how well behaved they were on many occasions which made me even prouder. Disco was so relaxed, she actually laid down on the vets table. They were content in the stroller when they weren't getting vet checked and having their vaccination. At one point there was a loud bang as part of the blue rolls cupboard fell down.. the puppies didn't notice it and Alaska went up to look at it and walked away. She was once again the ideal role model and demonstrated that this new place is where we can have a good sniff and then lay down to relax.

What I absolutely love about this visit is that they were in a different environment, saw many people, saw and heard different breeds of dogs, got put on a different table of a good height, got prodded and touched everywhere by someone new, sniffed many new scents, went up and down in a lift and all of this was in a way, normal for the puppies. They showed zero signs of stress, made no noise, looked around with interest and went to sleep (despite the noise of the waiting area and store). I honestly could not be happier. I feel like we hit the jackpot in genetics which has been a wonderful foundation for me to build upon with the socialisation.

The cafe visit was another successful experience. A new environment, new people, a few new dogs, new scents and the girls behaved like before- looked around, had a little play and went to sleep with no signs of worry. Alaska was near them and she was perfectly well behaved. I am wondering how I could have been this lucky to have such a wonderful and easy litter to socialise.

Every day is different to the puppies, from busy days to lazy days and activities vary. I feel like these girls will sail through life as long as owners continue providing them with good quality socialisation.

I am trying not to feel too sad that I am not keeping any of these girls. They are exactly what I want to see in the next generation of Pomskies. Creating and raising puppies who are confident, robust, take experiences in their stride and can relax anywhere is exactly what I wanted to create. Saying that I am proud feels like it just isn't a strong enough word.

I am looking forward to our next litter and I will be always excited to meet Alaska's future puppies.
